New Shows in Santa Barbara

I just found out that I got my two pieces accepted to the annual Santa Barbara Printmaker’s show.  I’m quite excited about this as I submitted 2 brand new works of solar etchings called “Feminine Mystique”.  The opening will be tomorrow First Thursday.  It’s a big deal in Santa Barbara,  all the art galleries are open with refreshments, music and artists attending, it’s a lot of fun and a great date night.

The show will be at the Faulkner Gallery at the Santa Barbara Library located at 40 E. Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara CA 93101.

As if that isn’t enough, I will also be showing my Buddha Collection at the Gallery 113 a part of the Santa Barbara Art Association of which I am a member. The show will feature photographs, monotypes, mixed media and solar etchings. The gallery is is just across from the back of the library, the address is actually  1114 State Street adjacent to the museum.  Here again the opening will be tomorrow First Thursday.

Both galleries are open during the week and weekends.  I will be gallery sitting at the Faulkner on Saturday October 24th. Come by and visit, there is plenty of free parking at the adjacent structure. Send me a quick email to let me know that you’ll be coming. I hope to see you there.

I stopped at Pepperdine University on my way up the coast to Ventura tonight. I parked, got out of my car and wandered around all the flags mesmerized and in awe.  This is the first picture I took and as I wandered on further I found flags from other lands.  It was quite touching, I found myself unable to leave,  it was so profound and beautiful.  I ended up staying until it was totally dark. Then I finished my drive home.
